Current Products developed and under Development:

  • First metatarsal phalangeal joint replacement system, Motion toe which will replace as a hemi either the head or the base.  It will have a phalangeal base with poly for articulation with the head component.

  • Hooknut/Rescue Rings:  device that allows the rods and rings on a frame to be moved easily and quickly with no loss in strength of the frame.  Allows partial levels to be applied to a frame for added strength or positions for pins and wires.

  • REX FIX: rescue external fixation system is a universal clamp and ring design that will help dynamic frames and mobile struts.  Designed to overcome short comings common to their use.  This will allow a stabilizing effect of the frame, protection of flaps and dressings.  It will allow for fine tuning the reduction that is not possible today.  Patent applied.
  • Complete ankle ligament system.  Repair of all foot and ankle ligaments including syndesmosis using smaller passing holes applying less stress on the bone.  Prototypes made and being developed. Estimated sales 2023.  Patent approved.
  • Plate and screws: emphasis on reconstruction and Charcot plates.  Prototyping and analysis in progress
  • External fixation system: modular system under development and patents applied.

    Dr. Montross has been in practice for over 30 years. Currently working for University of Colorado in Colorado Springs. He is deeply involved in limb preservation. While in Colorado Springs he was the first foot and ankle specialist to do live cartilage transplants and is certified on STAR, Cadence, InBone and Salto Talaris ankle joint replacement systems. He is involved in an international study using the Hintermann Ankle replacement system. He is the first to use hybrid ring fixation for Diabetic reconstruction and circular ring fixation for limb lengthening in Colorado Springs.

    Dr. Montross has been involved with education as well. He has given lectures in nearly all of the United States of America. He has lectured in England, Puerto Rico, France and Spain. He was the main educator in Colorado Springs for the Denver VA program and is worked with medical school students from University of Colorado and Peak Vista Osteopathic College. He has lectured for regional podiatric societies and private seminar companies. In addition, he has lectured for Syntheses (Johnson and Johnson), Stryker, Integra, KMI, Ascension Orthopedics, Ortho Helix, BME, MMI, In2Bone USA, etc...

    Dr. Montross has been involved with consulting, development, royalties and research for many companies including Integra Life Science (acquired by Smith Nephew), KMI, Ascension Orthopedics, Ortho Helix, BME, MMI, Solana, In2Bone USA, Therix and Stryker.
